It is with great sadness that the AKR has received news of the passing of Stylianos (Stilts) Polichroniadis.
Stilts was a long term kendo player. In 1991 he was a founding member of the successful Monash University Kendo Club, where he brought together a motivated group of students. The club quickly found recognition and gained momentum.
Stilts was later a state association President and then the AKR President from 2018 to 2021.
Stilts recently also achieved fifth dan in kendo, which is a testament to his dedication to many years of both training and improvement.
The Australian kendo community is saddened by the loss and sends sympathy, love and condolences to his family, Helen and their children, Alexandra, Georgia and Max, to his loved ones and Stilts’ many friends.
